HUGs: Help Understanding and Guidance

Our volunteers in this program are certified HUGs Instructors. Presentations designed for expectant parents and parents of newborn infants have taken place in the Toledo area since 2017. Participants are shown how to observe a newborn baby’s behavior and body language and how to take the appropriate action.

Parent-child interactions are the building blocks of a baby’s social, emotional, and intellectual development. The program aims to give participants more confidence in taking care of newborn infants, making for both happier parent and baby.
